Have Questions About the Medically Needy “Spenddown” Program?

The Medically Needy or “spenddown” program is the part of Medicaid that helps pay medical expenses of some people age 65 or older (and some younger folks with disabilities). These are people who do not currently receive public financial assistance like Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or Disability Lifeline.  Columbia Legal Services just published  a new pamphlet that answers many questions you may have.
